Omana’s scientific team are pioneers in plant science, particularly rice.
Over the last 30 years, we have developed a crop breeding programme with thousands of unique, and diverse, crop varieties including; rice, maize and corn, mustards, wheat, millet, new vegetable varieties, including black tomatoes, and unique botanical herbs and plants.
Food security is now a major element of national strategy in world politics, and nutrition and health are inexorably linked.
Nutrition and food security is the core focus of Omana Crop Science. We recognise that there is an opportunity to re-introduce, into the human diet, substances that have been lost. We are doing this by way of naturally re-generating commercial crops and other edible plant varieties to develop new foods, beverages and natural additives that work symbiotically within the global food economy.
Omana’s crop science is wholly based on conventional plant breeding techniques without using transgenic (GMO) approaches.
Omana is Non-GMO.
New generation of rice varieties
with enhanced health related traits. These traits emphasize better bio-availability of protein, vitamins, minerals and most importantly less bio-available carbohydrates, which have profound effects on reducing blood sugars.
Leading Scientists
Our team represent some of the most highly cited authors in Plant and Animal Science. They have written and collaborated on hundreds of Scientific Publications and developed numerous Patents.
Bio stimulants are products that reduce the need for conventional fertiliser.
Bio-Stimulants are efficient, improving the performance of the plant’s vital biologic processes. This in turn generates high yields and more healthier plants. Additionally, bio stimulants enhance nutrition efficiency, abiotic stress tolerance, such as drought, salinity, and heat, and improve plant quality traits.
Bio-Stimulants provide an alternative to the use of synthetic fertilisers without compromising plant yield or health, and simultaneously reducing environmental impact such as runoff and greenhouse gas.
